Sustainability services

A responsible attitude towards the environment is a vital part of our engineering culture. We actively promote sustainable practice in the built environment and are engaged in extensive research into renewable energy technologies.

Our approach to sustainability is multi-disciplinary:

  • producing sustainability masterplans, microclimate and massing analyses
  • optimising efficiency in the use of HVAC systems and energy
  • simulating daylighting, fluid dynamics and thermal performance
  • carrying out renewable energy feasibility studies and GLA Toolkit studies
  • formulating sustainability strategies
  • evaluating environmental and economic impacts of energy systems
  • designing systems using renewable energy technologies
  • applying for funding and grants for renewable energy technologies
  • cooperating with national/international agencies and universities on research
  • providing environmental and energy efficiency certification including BREEAM, EcoHomes, Code for Sustainable Homes, LEED and SAP/NHER
  • producing Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) for new domestic buildings
Through our activities we aim to further the understanding and wide-scale application of integrated low energy systems within the built environment. We promote all aspects of sustainable development and urban renewal.
